We offer two payment processors: Stripe and PayPal. Stripe accept most major bank cards. PayPal process payments for customers who have already signed up to their service, as well as guest payments made by bank card.
Card declined
If the card details are entered accurately and the card is declined, this may be on the instruction of the issuing bank.
Troubleshooting a “Your card does not support this type of purchase” error involves checking if the card has cross-border restrictions, or is an HSA or FSA card, then taking the corresponding action if it is.
- Does your card have cross-border restrictions? Some cards have restrictions on cross-border usage. If the card was issued in a country other than where our business is located (Stitching Cards is in the United Kingdom), this could be the problem. In this case, you should contact your bank to see if they have this restriction, and if so, if it can be removed.
- Is it a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) card? Some cards, such as corporate cards or FSA cards, can only be used for certain business categories such as travel or healthcare. If your card might only be available for certain business categories, you will need to use another card to make the purchase.
